Anthologies of Noise & Electronic Music - Sub Rosa

V/A - Anthologies of Noise & Electronic Music | Sub Rosa | CD Series

"This collection explores in depth the historical bases of electronic music and analyzes the slow emergence of noise, from the 1910s to now. A series of 2-CD/3-LP sets culling material from the most celebrated composers down to the most obscure artists" Sub Rosa. These releases by Sub Rosa really are unique in that they capture the history of Electronic music from it's earliest protagonists, the Dadaists, John Cage, Nam June Paik, Captain Beefheart, William Burroughs (to name but a few) to the contempories such as Merzbow, Sutcliffe Jugend, Sonic Youth, Masonna, SPK etc., with perhaps notable exceptions. All the Anthologies (currently 6) are packaged in gatefold Cd's or Lp's with booklets, biographies or general notes on each artist (2CD digipacks + big 50-page booklets featuring rare and unreleased tracks). I highly recommend that you add these essential releases to your collection!

Zoviet France - Popular Soviet songs and Youth music.

Zoviet*France are one of the most important collectives in the 'post-industrial' era. Their swirling, repetitive music changes shape each time it is listened to and has been, as much as the elborate packaging, of great inspiration to the current ambient music. Originally released as a double cassette in a ceramic container, this is a triple CD with felt on top and bottom. The whole beautiful package is held together by stolen badges from the Russian Army, and eats like a hamburger for Apparatsjiks. A great collectors piece!

Merzbow / The Guilt of...- Split LP

Japanese noise legend Merzbow offers up an assault of violent, swarming electronic distortion swirling with shards of brutal high-end feedback and cosmic oscillating tones, creating a vast whirlpool of caustic aural grit and buzz while Industrial noise punks "The Guilt øf... " a New Orleans-based group made up of Mike IX Williams (EyeHateGod, Outlaw Order, Arson Anthem) and Ryan McKern (Wolvhammer) layer waves of piano, fuzz, tortured vocals, drums and distorted sub-bass to create a mesmerizing and crushing drone-like effect
